New York Fashion Week: The Shows Spring 2017

Working with fashion bloggers we combine high quality runway images with fashion insights. New York Fashion Week Spring 2017 was held on September 8-15, 2016.

Desigual

Desigual, a very popular Spanish brand, showcased their new ready-to-wear Summer/Spring ’17 collection at NYFW on September 8th. The great thing about this brand is that the prices are affordable, comparable to J. Crew, and the level of quality and fashion is truly mind-boggling considering what you get for a great price.

The brand is worldly and embraced the ever so popular social media world, specifically SNAPCHAT, and created a whole new fashion experience that enchanted and inspired those watching. The collection included beautiful embroidered jackets, crochet tops with denim-like fabrics, knit skirts, unique sweaters, and long dresses with SNAPCHAT inspired makeup and accessories. Going digital and embracing the ever so popular social media got those watching to pay close attention to details and making these snapchat fashions a MUST-HAVE!

Desigual’s runway show proves that social media has taken over the fashion world… and real life Snapchat filters can make you look flawless when wearing this brand! Desigual new Spring/Summer ’17 collection is “Not just clothing, they’re experiences.”

Jeremy Scott

Jeremy Scott threw a party on the NYFW runway, all while showcasing his new Spring/Summer 2017 collection, bringing the fashion world back to an unforgettable decade, the 80’s!

The collection consisted of bold style, bright colors, crazy silhouettes, fabric patterns that made you dizzy, and bowl bob hair cuts that had you going UMMM… ”How Cool!”. The unforgettable pieces that made their way down the runway was the giant toothpaste tube dress, the 2 piece melting popsicle pencil skirt and crop top, asymmetrical sequin dresses that sparkled in the spotlight, eyes from screen printed faces looking right at you on polished oversized sweaters and tops, bold printed messages on fitted “Rated X” long-sleeve shirts, and sexy swimwear that was clearly “Hot Hot Hot”.

Jeremy Scott’s collection definitely carved a different kind of couture when he added his own fashion twist to the vibrant 80’s.This era will forever have a piece of our fashion hearts!
