Malan Breton took inspiration from the 1970's glam rock decade and Studio 54

Malan Breton deemed his Fall/Winter 2016 collection presented at NYFW "Gotham Disco Dollies" and took inspiration for the collection from the 1970's glam rock decade and Studio 54. His collection focused on both menswear and womenswear. The collection felt very hip and fashion-forward.

Breton took classic silhouettes and garments and entirely re-vamped them for a refreshingly youthful collection that shouts "hip". Spunky models strutted the designs down the runway in a manner that added to the youthful, playful feeling of the designs. Sophisticated, elegant designs were updated with shiny materials such as patent leather and other reflective materials, gold detailing, sequins and unique layering.

The collection utilized a lot of black and white colors but also played around with deep reds, blues and a variety of shades of purple from lilac to lavender to rich plum colors. Oriental-inspired prints as well as paisley brocade prints presided over the collection, adding a quirky element to the collection.
